  • Protection classes 1 to 3

    Protection class 1 - normal protective require- ments for internal data.

    Protection class 2 - High protective requirements for confidential data

    Protection class 3 - Very high protective requirements for confidential and secret data

  • Security levels 1 to 7

    1: Recommended e.g. B. for data carriers with general data that should be made unreadable. This security level is not suitable for personal data.

    2: Recommended e.g. B. for data carriers with internal data that should be made unreadable. This security level is not suitable for personal data.

    3: Recommended e.g. B. for data carriers with sensitive and confidential data

    4: Recommended e.g. B. for data carriers with particularly sensitive and confidential data

    5: Recommended e.g. B. for data carriers with data to be kept secret

    6: Recommended e.g. B. for data carriers with data to be kept secret, if exceptionally high security precautions are to be observed.

    7: Recommended for data carriers with data to be kept strictly secret, if the highest security precautions are to be observed.

  • Material classes PAW

    P: Information representation in original size (paper, film, printing forms, radiographs,..)

    F: Information representation reduced (microfilm, microfiche, foil, ...)

    O: Information representation on optical memory media (CD, DVD, Blu-Ray-Disc,...

    T: Information representation on magnetic memory media (floppy discs, ID- or smart cards magnetic cassettes,....) 

    H: Information representation on HDD ́s with magnetic memory media (hard disks)

    E: Information representation on electronic memory media (Flash- or SSD-drives, thumb

    drives, chip cards, mobile communication media, ...)
